BrightMAX 3000 'Tactical Military' Flashlight Review: 5 Things to Know

Hi. Wanted to post a real quick 'review' of a new flashlight being promoted all over the internet...

BrightMAX 3000 Flashlight review

It's called the BrightMAX 3000 'Tactical Military' Flashlight and it's very similar to other flashlights being sold online. Before you spend your 40 - 60 dollars on this product please know the following 5 things...

1. It's Chinese-made and nothing special.

This light is manufactured by a company in China and sold under several different brand names. There are several different versions of what is basically the same exact prouct. Probably the best known example is the 'LumiTact Tactical G700' flashlight. Many other similar lights are sold under the MECO brand.

2. Almost all of the online reviews are fake.

The reviews -- mostly fake blog posts and YouTube videos -- are nothing but promotional BS created by retailers and affiliates trying to sell you this over-priced product. Don't fall for the hype. Real reviews show both the negatives and the positives of the product!

3. The features/benefits are not unique.

Being made with 'military grade' aluminum metal and creating a beam bright enough to 'blind a bear' are nothing new or special. Literally 100's of modern flashlights have the same features. As a couple online flashlight forums point out, these Chinese lights are basically just mass-marketed versions of cheap products that've been on the market for years.

4. The 30-day guarantee doesn't mean much.

The company (possibly companies) who sells the BrightMAX 3000 and other clones is known for making it difficult to take advantage of the 30-day guarantee. There's little to no real customer service and it's hard to get your money back if there's a problem. Also, 30 days isn't enough time to evaluate any flashlight.

5. You can buy better flashlights for less money on Amazon.

Sipik 700 Lumen CREE flashlight
There are far superior lights for sale on Amazon and they cost significantly less money. One good example is the Sipik 700 Lumen Camping Torch. It features:

  • Super Bright CREE XM-L T6 LED Bulb
  • 6061T High-Strength Aluminum
  • 700 Lumens Max Output
  • Skid-Proof and Water Resistant (O-ring Sealed)
  • Adjustable Focus Zoom
  • 5 Mode Adjustable Brightness: High/Mid/Low/Strobe/SOS
  • Tactical 'Strike Bezel' for Self-Defense
  • 2-Year Warranty
  •  18650 Rechargeable Battery w/ Charger

That's a hell of a lot for just $16! Click here to learn more.

Whatever you do, don't buy the BrightMAX 3000 tactical flashlight from SurvivalGiant or any other fake 'survival' blog website. You'll pay full price, which is usually at least 2 or 3 times more than the 'true' price of this light.

Again, if you want a super-strong, high-quality, tactical or military-style flashlight, your best bet by far is to choose one of the top-sellers on Amazon.com:

Supernova Guardian 1300

10 Minute Trainer Is Hot -- Reviews Needed!

Looking for a 10 minute workout that actually works? Well it appears millions of other people are too, especially in North America. In the past three weeks "10 Minute Trainer" has become a top search phrase in Google, even appearing on their Hot Trends page a few days ago. So what's the deal? Well, it turns out 10 Minute Trainer is another one of those incredibly well-produced and well-promoted Beachbody home workout programs (P90X or Insanity anyone?) that promises a fitness model's body within a matter of weeks.

Surprisingly, this is not a new product. In fact, going by the oldest reviews on Amazon.com, it was first released way back in early 2008. So why the explosion in popularity online? Probably because Beachbody has been seriously ramping up its TV and web marketing efforts in the past few weeks, most likely to take advantage of the surge in interest in fast weight loss and quick fitness solutions that appears every January.

What Is It?

10 Minute Trainer is basically an ultra-efficient, super fast workout system for busy people. It combines high-intensity cardio, ab exercises, and "total body toning" strength training exercises in one short workout. It of course includes a strict eating plan that is absolutely necessary for rapid fat loss results and the DVDs also come with special rubber resistance bands to help raise the intensity/efficiency of the exercises. The videos are hosted by Beachbody fitness guru Tony Horton and they promise to help you "tone and trim" your entire body in just 10 minutes per day by using the supposedly unique "Super Stacking Technique" system.

Sound super, doesn't it??

Reviews Needed

As is often the case with Beachbody's ultra-popular home exercise products, there's not a whole lot of real information online. Most of the customer "reviews" currently available on the web were created by people who make money selling the 10 Minute Training DVD program -- often promoting it directly on the very same website. The over 100 reviews currently on Amazon are generally positive although there are a handful of negative 1 and 2-star reviews as well. Unfortunately, many of the most positive 5-star reviews appear to be fakes. There's too much similar language, too many exclamation points!!!,  and few if any other reviews from the reviewers -- all signs of less-than-genuine reviews. So we need your help...

If you've used the 10 Minute Trainer workout system please leave your own reviews, ratings, or opinions in the comments section below. Thanks! :)

We say: Ten and 15 minute workouts are nothing new and many of the best are totally free. Although we're sure the 10 Minute Trainer system has some definite benefits, especially for newbies and people who need some visual motivation from their televisions, we're also fairly confident it's a little over-priced for what it is. For $90 you could buy a couple of high-quality kettlebells and a great jumprope, which all anyone needs to get an extremely effective fast workout anytime they want! (If you don't disagree tells us why in the comments section below!)

By the way, here's the Ten Minute Trainer commercial. If you live in the US you've probably already seen it a few hundred times...

Oh, and here are some reviews from the Beachbody site!

Tracy Anderson Method Reviews: Does This HOT Weight Loss Method Work?

The Tracy Anderson Method has become one of the hottest "celebrity" weight loss/fitness programs in the US. Her "30-Day Weight loss Kick-Start" book is one of the best-selling quick weight loss programs on Amazon. Tracy's method involves things like muscle confusion and strict diet for losing weight and "shrinking" your body in just 30 days.

Many big actresses, musicians, and celebrities have used the Tracy Anderson Method to shed pounds and get into fantastic shape. Gwyneth Paltrow likes her stuff so much that she's become a business partner. According to Tracy Anderson, here method is based on scientific research and many years of experience. She says her workout and diet plan reshapes the body, tones the muscles, and "defies genetics" to drop weight rapidly.

The most unique thing about the Anderson Method is that it focuses on working the small stabilizer or "accessory" muscles, instead of the big major muscle groups (like the quadriceps and bicep muscles). According to Anderson doing this create a longer, leaner, more balanced look and not the bulked-up look woman apparently want to avoid.

The problem with that is that it's kind of BS. It's very easy for women to avoid getting big "bulky"-looking muscles. You don't have to focus on small stabilizer muscles. Compound, multi-joint exercises that work major muscle groups -- like squats, lunges, pull-ups, and push-ups -- are proven to burn fat, build sexy lean muscle mass, and give you faster results than single-joint exercises (like bicep curls).

Many reviews of the Tracy Anderson Method are not so great. Some claim it leaves you starving and nearly "blacking out" from hunger! Several fitness expert reviews are more negative than positive. Still though, millions of people -- including dozens of A-list celebs -- love Tracy's weight loss method... so it can't be all bad!

We way: What's wrong with a girl have some real muscle and definition?? We LOVE all those fit, buff, sexy fitness models. The Tracy Anderson Method might be OK if you want the "soft dancer" look but we hope most ladies stick to free weights and Crossfit workouts! :)

Is Insanity Asylum the Next P90X? Any Reviews??

Update 4/11/11: OK so apparently we got some bad information... the new Insanity Asylum workout program has not been released yet. The official release date is April 18, 2011. So hang in there another week and come back here to see reviews, opinions, comments, etc!

---

The new Insanity Asylum workout has just been released by those crazy P90X/Beachbody people and already thousands of people are online looking for reviews. The original Insanity program was one of the best-selling home fitness products of 2010 and many experts expect "Asylum" to be just as popular. Some people are even calling it the "P90X of 2011!"

The Beachbody people and personal trainer Shaun T (Insanity's creator) definitely know how to market a product. The online buzz is exploding around this ultra-intense "extreme" workout that's designed to give you single-digit body fat and a fitness model's body. If you've done the original Insanity, P90x, Turbo Fire, or any of the other Beachbody workouts you know that they are no joke. We're definitely not talking about Jazzercise here!

The fact is that Insanity Asylum may be the toughest, most-intense home workout yet. That means it's probably not for couch potatoes who are totally out-of-shape. This program looks like it's really for relatively well-conditioned people who have reached a plateau in their current fitness or weight loss program and want to break through. It also appears to be for highly fit people who want to improve their athletic ability... for their weekend flag-football league we assume.

What's most interesting about Beachbody Asylum is that it's based around exercises that real athletes do. Apparently Shaun T was a track-and-field star at one time and he promises to have you training "like a pro" and "playing like a star" in just 30 days. The total-body Asylum workouts are designed to quickly improve your full body strength, power, speed, coordination, and agility while burning off fat and building lean muscle fast.

Sounds very interesting and we'd love to have some reviews to post. Please leave your own questions, comments, and reviews in the area below. Thanks!
