Zhu Zhu Pets: A Possible Recall?

Zhu Zhu hamster pets, the ultra-popular, ultra-cute robotic toy from Cepia LLC, may have some not-so-cute toxic chemical problems. If it's true, there may be a Zhu Zhu pet product recall coming in the near future! According to consumer group Good Guide, the toys may be unsafe for children due to relatively high levels of antimony, a chemical that can cause serious health problems. They also found unacceptable levels of tin and bromine. Of course the makers of Zhu Zhu pets says that there products are 100% safe for children and have passed rigorous tests for contaminants. They say they want to know exactly how GoodGuide tested the toys and determined that there were problems.

So for now, it's probably OK to keep buying those cute and cuddly robot hamsters for your kids. Just don't let them eat or lick them!
