Amazon Delivery Drones Go BIG After 60 Minutes Unveiling

Forget 2-day delivery! Imagine ordering something on Amazon.com and having it delivered directly to your doorstep within 30 minutes. That's exactly the reality the company hopes to create within the next few years, according to new 60 Minutes story.

Amazon is developing unmanned, GPS-guided "Prime Air" octocopter drones that can take smaller (under 5 lbs probably) packages directly from warehouses to the buyers home, as long as it is within range. The helicopter-looking vehicles could become the next big thing in fast delivery, according to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

According to Bezos:

"I know this looks like science fiction. It's not. It drops the package. You come and get your package and we can do half-hour deliveries."

We say: This could easily be a very early April Fool's joke or just a big publicity stunt, and not everyone is really excited about it, but we like it... A LOT! The sooner these drones get into action the better. We're tired of waiting 2 whole days for our low-cost sporting goods and Chinese-made junk gadgets!!

They Finally Got a Giant Squid on Video!

We finally got one!

After many years of trying, marine biologists have gotten video of a real, live giant squid. A film crew made hundreds of attempts before finally "capturing" the notoriously shy and very mysterious marine animal on digital film. Using cutting-edge video technology, researchers from the National Science Museum of Japan and Florida's Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) were able to send a camera down over 3000 feet below the surface and record the adult giant squid in it's natural ocean habitat.

Pretty amazing stuff, whether you're a nature geek or not!

The gold and silver colored cephalopod looked and acted pretty differently than what many experts expected. According to one researcher from ORCA:

"There'd been controversy about whether the giant squid was an active predator or whether it just floated around because of its neutral buoyancy... Clearly, from what we saw, it's an active predator. It's stunning footage."

Austrian Skydiver "Flies" at 833 MPH During High-Altitude Free Fall

A few days ago Felix Baumgartner floated to an altitude of over 128,000 feet in a helium balloon -- then jumped out. He free fell for 4 min 20 sec, reaching a maximum velocity of 833 mph and breaking the world records for highest free fall and highest manned balloon flight. He made the incredible jump on the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier for the first time.
