US Senators Introduce New Energy Bill

Two of the top US senators introduced a new comprehensive and sweeping energy bill today. John Kerry and Joe Lieberman say that their new bill will help to end US dependence on foreign oil while helping to keep US industry competitive.

According to Kerry the bill will work toward turning US energy policy into a strength instead of a weakness.

The bill seeks to fix several major energy problems by expanding nuclear power production, providing incentives for "clean coal" technology development, spending money to develop alternative energy sources (including solar and wind), and developing program to help US industry transition to lower-carbon systems.
